Not sure how much further I want to take this. It’s the gist of it now and energy could probably be better spent elsewhere, not absolutely sure though, there are a few more things that could be learned with this that wouldn’t be a waste of time. After all those fingernails look great… ^^.
Will be based on this one. Hopefully done in the next 2 weeks. Drawing time is far between with 3 3d things on the go and the weather to contend with.
Turtle neck with a collar…. I am aware >.<
200,000 polys into this one. So the sketch is more or less started. Initial plan was generic (gamestyle) hottie, but I didn’t feel happy with where that was going so switched to this.
2 sessions in, with half of the second one spent rebuilding something (which I’m pleased to report is now to the point that it almost looks as well as it did at the beginning…!). It’s starting to get to the stage where I should be cleaning up the extremities (hands… whimper), so if anyone sees any snafus please shout out. I am aware the bicep area is borked.
I did a few more lines in this base mesh which seems to be handy for a few areas that need more detail (face, elbows, etc). I’m going to be very interested to work from Anand’s basmesh — that’ll be a different from the loopless wonder.
Here is the base mesh for the curious.
Possibly half a meter (!) of snow tomorrow… so while I am surely to be busy I don’t think it will be with this ^^.
There is something very cool about looking back and having the only (human) footsteps you see be your own:
Burned out a Xvid AVI: aotkr-walking. Shudderssumly hard process for me as I’ve done very little of that before. Much easier to just just hit the CS footsteps button
. Worthwhile though I guess, it gets a heck of a lot easier quickly, and it gives a lot of insight. Doing a blocky and clunky walk really should not be all that challenging, but!
Interesting to get things pushed out in the Cal3D format as well. I hadn’t heard of that one before, but the export experience was really painless and sensible. Outside UVs flipped in the V it was problem free… not bad really.
Most elements in play now:
Incredible how nice UT3 looks, so much content in each level… amazing how far games have some. Gonna be fun trying to toss a few levels together for.
