Lighting Challenge
Still hitting hotkeys and getting no response and running down missing scripts, but I think I’m getting close to being back up to speed. I did manage to get this settled tonight, was a good test platform for it at least.

Superdickery.com: the really crazy thing to me is that these are apparently legit from the comics. Certainly not your standard image of ‘the man of steel’ and all that.
… yes a hard drive did die on me! What a pain in the ass it has been. Luckily I have decent backup practices on projects… but this was the system drive. My software backup habits were a touch on the shadey side. I’ve got the minimum back now, and hoping for the best. HD failure is definately not the best advert for system stability.
Started playing around with Zbrush more, put off by the interface a bit, but once you get into the real push / pulling the clay style feel is fantastic. Not often a tool actually registers as ‘fun’.
Cut into a few 3D things in the last few days… feels to be in semi good shape, once this round is done I think my portfolio will be fully settled (at long last)

http://mp3media1.abc.net.au:8060/classicfm.mp3 seems to be the best classical station I\’ve run into, how odd to go to Aus to get something with quality content that plays in Winamp with no fuss.
Man been putting up way to much horrible 2d lately… but why buck a trend I guess:

Getting to the point of competant gestures now, and it is decently useful skill for laying out scenes now. Really like the vibe of CGTalk’s Anatomy Forum, and it’s helped a lot with my ability to see clearly. Just a shame I didn’t focus 10 years ago.
Fan Art Contest Holy crap the prizes on that are absolutely insane O.O.
Should see some truly amazing work come out of that contest.
George Hull – Portfolio love the colour pallette breakdown at the bottom of that.
Very odd to attempt an underwater look. Turning out to be a bit of an education, but it’s fairly fast at least. Haven’t touched the fish yet, but it’s a first pass.
Been trying to take a half hour to do these in an evening. It’s definately interesting… I don’t feel like a natural digital painter, but I guess the tools are starting to get a little bit more clear for me. Funny a program that I have used a fair amount (PS) can feel so alien at times. There is some progress. All I need is another 100,000 reps and I should be good to go.
I can manually paint small gradients competantly now! Yay for me.
Took a break from assorted pipe stuff and did a quick bust, and some drawings. So many things going on at once right now.
